Docklands, London, UK - Rhodes Barbeque Smokehouse (RhodesBBQ) which just opened in England has brought to the Docklands and London, the real American Southern Barbeque.

Carbondale is a university town located in the American Corn belt of Illinois. Most of the region is rural and dominated by hundreds of family owned large-scale corn and animal farms. Also, because Southern Illinois is located further south than Louisville Kentucky, many claim it is below the Mason-Dixon Line. Every weekend, in an area of downtown Carbondale called the Strip; there is a huge car park, where various types of vehicles and trailers come to display their different designs of smokers and pits, smoking and selling their smoked meat products. As a visitor to the area, from the first time you taste their smoked chicken and ribs, you get hooked on this American smoked barbeque delight.

The word, ‘Barbeque’ is highly misunderstood. In America, ‘Barbeque’ has four essential meanings, of which three refer to grilling and one refers to real Southern barbeque.

Rhodes Barbeque Smokehouse defines its type of barbeque as follows:

‘a savoury and succulent slab of meat, smoked over wood at medium-low temperatures in a moist environment for an extended period of time until it is at once perfectly tender and exceedingly juicy and brimming with flavour’

Our chicken and ribs are smoked for a minimum of 4 to 5 hours, while our beef brisket and pork shoulder are smoked for over 14 hours. The presence of this smoke ring, which is an 1/8 -1/2 inch thick pink ring around the outside edge of our products, is an indication that the meat has been slowly wood smoked for a period of time. It is considered a prized attribute by Barbeque Connoisseurs. In beef, the ring is reddish-pink and in pork, chicken and turkey, it is bright pink, this is the only way you will know you are eating real smoked barbeque. So, look for this unique feature in our finished products”.

just wanted to thank you for the loveliest most finger licking delicious food we had in a while. huge portions lots and lots of sauces with best pulled pork in town. Great attention to detail. Delivery driver was very nice too even tho he had to come back as we forgot to sign the cheque. We shall definitely reccomend. keep on cooking the good food.
It beats the Bodeans any time 100 times over.
